About the Author:
Maxine Gonzalez, a native of Dalcour, Louisiana, received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Louisiana State University and taught for
22 years in both public and private schools in Louisiana, Nicaragua, and Miami, Florida.
For the past eleven years, she has lived in Manangua, Nicaragua with her husband, two dogs, and two parrots. She enjoys reading, making little quilts for family and friends, and volunteering for an organization that provides healthcare for the poor and a nutrition program for malnourished children. |
About the Illustrator:
Areyca Casco Moran is a 20 year old
graphic design student in her third year at the Universidad Polictecnica de Nicaragua in Managua, Nicaragua. Her niece could not pronounce her name so she has beome known to all as “Annie”. Annie has always loved to draw and entertains her little nieces and nephews with her whimsical drawings. |
About the Editor:
Laura Sullivan is enjoying retirement in her hometown of Dalcour, Louisiana. She spends much of her time participating in the Los Isleños Society and heading up their scholarship program.
After her retirement, Ms. Sullivan spent 12 years teaching in the American Red Cross Home Alone Program.
Mrs. Sullivan holds a Bachelors Degree in Education from Louisiana State University and a Masters Degree in Teaching Elementary Science from Loyola University. She worked as a teacher for 29 years and as a principal for five years in Louisiana. |
