to a Soldier LETTER Drive:

Herocare is organizing a letter drive to thank troops for their service. We will collect letters from May 20th - June 15th, and then distribute the letters we collect to Florida volunteers participating in the AnySoldier.com program.

About AnySoldier.com - this program was created by an Army Infantry soldier in 2003 who wanted to help his unit by getting personal letters to soldiers who didn't receive mail. What started out as one family's effort to help, has expanded to a program that has helped over
69,000 service members!

Here's how it works: Write a letter of support to a soldier and get it to Herocare. After June 15th, we will send all the letters we collect to AnySoldier Florida contacts stationed in Afghanistan or Iraq who have volunteered to distribute letters to troops who receive little to no mail. It's that easy.

If you'd like to participate, here's some advice we found on the site:

1. Please start the letter, “Dear Soldier”

2. If you send a letter, there is no guarantee that the soldier who receives it will respond. If you want to hear back from them, include your name and mailing address in your letter because they're likely to throw away the envelope. You can also include your email address which is probably the easiest way for them to get back to you.
